Lime tree is dedicated to Venus, goddess of love and fertility, maybe because its leaves have the shape of a heart. The Lavandula kind counts around 30 species. 3 of which grow naturally in France: fine lavender (the real one), lavandine and spike lavender. In spring, a tiny spike grows on each stem. It will get bigger as the days go by and will hold more and more flowers until summer arrives and all the colours appear.
